- Learning a new technique
I’ll tell my experience learning this expressive brush technique, sculpting them in 3D and painting. I will teach you to understand your frustration using your brain when dealing with paint problems and we will flow with it when the time is right. One of my toughest pieces to date.

A beautiful piece and a fascinating journey; true art!
Do you think that you will paint more pieces in this style?

I really liked this video and yes it is important to go outside ones comfortable zone to learn. I have learned that I can´t do too many projects in a row like this and need to do more relaxing projects in-between to keep the joy of painting. You encouraged me before to step outside what I was comfortable with and I painted a young sculpt too look older. https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/25501
Thanks for continuous inspiration and great videos.

Thanks for your kind words John! its so important to do new things and learn. Your interpretation of the old woman is the best example of how we can “sculpt with paint”. You totally transformed her looking. Congratulations for an awesome piece!!!

Thanks, it was a hard project that I repainted many times to learn and see what worked or not. There are still areas that could be better, but I think there almost always is those areas 🙂 in onselfs critique view.

I am wonder if you would like to do a community event? say that you decided on something that you think we here could try out (for example do a small diorama with pointillism or just a take and art and recreate it with a model, or something else that you yourself would like to do and we will just join in and we all can see how we imagined and solved what you asked about.) Just to see what people will create and doing something together. Perhaps do something over a time of 2 to 3 months?

Thats a cool idea mate!
To create a group of students and paint the same figure on a determinated time.
I will think about it! thanks for sharing your thoughts 😉
